Tragedy strikes the Forgotten Voices family - a pause in our journey

Friends - Last week, I wrote about growing tensions mounting in Zimbabwe and called on all of us to pray for the region.

Tonight, I'm sad to inform you that our beloved friend, Fibion, who I just wrote about a few days ago --- lost his nephew to a brutal killing in South Africa earlier today. Our prayers are with Fibion and his extended family.

Fibion and I have chosen not to go into details, other than to call you all to continued prayer for the tension, stress, and violence that is brewing and breaking out around southern Africa. Pray also for the Forgotten Voices family of church partners, donors, staff, and volunteers -- that we may press on in answering the calls to love, even when it hurts. Fibion also powerfully called me to remind you all to pray for the new people that came to his church this past weekend...that they would know and come to know Jesus this week. Amidst his suffering, Fibion provides wisdom to us all.

To honor our dear friend Fibion's loss and to focus our prayers tonight, we pause our journey around projects. We will resume tomorrow.

To send a note of encouragement to Fibion, please email Remember@ForgottenVoices.org or post a comment here on blogger. I'll make sure to collect them and get them to Fibion's family.

Many thanks for your prayer and love,
Ryan

Please send Fibion my love! And let him know that I'm praying for him and his family.
